Quoting a previous insult

" 1. I would hazard a guess its because its full of older people like yourself which most of the young athletes despise and

2. frankly if the committee share your attitude and mannerisms then its without doubt the main reason why after they've finished as Juniors they all leave and its also contributory to why MRC has not Senior Athletes either men or women or the ones they do have are very por and uncompetative. "

1. Whatever you think about older members most clubs rely heavily upon those who pay more to row only few times compared with the younger members who get better value for money. They also contribute to the organisation of events for all levels of competition.

2. All clubs have their 'ups and downs' and other clubs have suffered from the injection of money into clubs as a result of World Class Start acceditation and it is a very unsatisfactory situation in senior rowing across the country.

I would really like you to identify yourself because I would like to know what 'attitude and mannerisms' seem to upset you. Obviously you know how to contact me so please don't bore the rest of the rowing world.

Not only has TR been down but RQ has been unavailable for a fortnight.

There are many reasons why crews and scullers decide whether or not to race at a particular regatta or HOR. As the organiser of several I would like to know what we need to do to get sufficient entries to keep the events profitable.

To start the ball ro(w!)lling how about:

The level of entry fees
Distance
No of races to win
The quality of organisation in previous years
Local loyalty
The risk of meeting students or school crews
The risk of getting a point
or anything else

I am aware that entries are down across the country so please post your own thoughts, but please keep the normal abuse to a minimum.

Have many other events seen a drop of in entries this year? If so, is there a pattern across all of them-perhaps the national recession?
